Sorry for such a basic thing but my push/pull tone knob on my ME is loose and every time I split the coils it falls off. What is the best method to get this back on properly?

Use a flat blade screw driver to widen the split on the shaft. The SE's do have the split end shaft, correct?

you can take a small rectangle of black electrical tape and, sticky side down, place on the pot then slide the knob over it.

Once you have your knob secured, try placing a silicone vape band around the knob.

I never knew what was one until someone posted about them here. They fit nicely and make it easy to grip the lampshade knobs for pulls.

This is the fix for split shaft pots. Be gentle, however. It doesn’t take a lot to break off one side and then, if you do, the pot must be replaced.

I have a fix. A small piece of plastic, glued into the gap of the spline and the piece that has snapped off and voila! No need for a new pot.

I know because we had to do this for my cousins guitar recently. Just make sure that your knob fits before applying adhesive and allow it to dry fully.

Or this. :)
