Hi All!

What is the best strap for a Custom 24 2013 (I have an Orange Tiger)? This is my first time to buy a strap and this is my first time to have a PRS, and good electric guitar for that matter :), so I have no idea what to get and look for. I would like to get the best one (comfort, durability, great looks and price) since I'm buying via online this Black Friday and I'm from the Philippines.

Thanks for your time and help!

Levy's make some great straps...go for the softer leather ones, and you can't lose with a plain black strap...will go with any guitar!!

I use a prs strap. Very comfortable and hold up better then most. A 2.5 is the best way to go. I think mine was something like $45 and honestly, best strap I've ever owned . A lot of prs users ,use the top prs model which is supposed to be even more comfortable due to the extra thickness.

I usually look for a slippery feel (sort of like a seat belt in a car) in the material which will make contact with the garment I am wearing while playing so that I can easilly change the position of the guitar at will.

I have one of the older PRS leather straps (with the birds in flight embossed onto it) that I have on a set of Schaller strap locks that I use with all my PRS. Absolutely love it, very high quality!

I have a lot of straps including Levy leather ones, and a nice PRS non leather one, and some slippery nylon ones.
For right now I prefer the free black PRS one I got with my "Thank You" package as it has the adjustable slide buckle on it.
The ones with my leather straps are a PITA to adjust as you have to wind the leather through the slots, and since I run Schaller Strap Locks, you have to take the lock off the strap in order to do so.

I much prefer the simplicity now of just using the slide buckle to adjust the length, so much faster.

Also check out these new straplocks from a company called "Loxx". I've replaced all my Dunlop locks recently because of a faulty set I got which gave me nothing but issues. So far these are working out great.

There is one huge downside to them. If you go to a gig and forget your strap with the Loxx ends installed. It would be impossible to simply borrow a strap and use with the ends that the Loxx units use.

I really like the PRS leather birds strap I got a while back. Had to extend it the full length, but it's very comfortable!

I use Ernie Ball 2" Nylon straps they are cheap and that is good because all my money is tied up in PRS guitars

The leather PRS "Birds" strap (brown) is what I use. It's very comfortable, never slips off my shoulder no matter how much I move around, and the birds just look so classy.

My two cents....

This. I swear I have one in every color. It's my favorite strap from the store.

Check out Anthology Gear Wear's straps, I have a couple of those and they're the most amazing guitar straps I've ever owned, very comfortable, beautiful craftsmanship and awesome leather, and they have a 100 year warranty

also, +1 for the Loxx strap locks, great pieces of hardware!!

Hi there guys thanks a lot for your insights and recommendations! Appreciate it a lot; I love this PRS forum site! Now it's time for me to do some research on your recommendations and see which ones I'll like. :)

Cheers!

Les, did you get this from the village people fan club??????

Speaking of the Village People era, my overcoat was once in a Playboy shoot about Plato's Retreat.

And yes, it's a long story.

OP, I use dimarzio clip lock on my guitars. I also never take it off though. Really good and stable. Just a thought.
