Stumbled upon this beauty on ebay today and all I can say is WOW!

Hell even the burst is excellent. This is by far the best looking SE I have ever seen, does anyone else have one that can contend with this?

Pretty close for sure. Thomann did some 60th anniversary (of the shop) SE editions within the last few months that had some almost PS grade quilt veneers... but that's a hell of a flame!

I've got a couple lookers in my stable, but I'm a sucker for quilt tops...

Is it apples and oranges? Maybe. I will say, the special run SE quilt tops tend to have more intense figure, so to find that flame top looking so good is INSANE! Probably one of the best, if not the best, flame SE's I've seen.

So, did you buy it?

I have the same quilt top in a Santana SE purchased at GC last year. I called PRS and inquired because I could not find that finish anywhere. I was told it was an exclusive run for GC only.

I can't argue with that. Looks fantastic!

GC had an exclusive on the Vintage Sunburst Quilt Santana SEs I believe. They also had an exclusive on Vintage Burst Flame SE Custom 24s (6-stringers, no Floyds). I think VB was a standard color for the 7 stringers and is also currently for the SE Floyds.

BTW that is a stunning top, some of the new SECU24 tops I have seen are among the best I have ever seen.
