Best Pickups for SC245

How do you like the Abraxas? I've been thinking about looking into that set.
I really like them. Not that the original pick ups were bad, I was just looking for something different. I think they've got a nice grunt to them. Not too bassy. Good for classic rock/early metal sounds (Rush, Zep, Priest, AC/DC et al.), and bluesy stuff. I'd buy them again.

Get the guitar enjoy it for a t least 3 months then decide what you want to change if anything. Everyone's ears do not hear the same sounds and the same pickup in two guitars of the same specification could sound different. Don't rush to alter the guitar or spend money.

Well it's my $ and my guitar. I did not bond with the pickups and for a small price in comparison to the entire guitar I have now my favorite guitar I've ever played. To me it was worth the $300 and 3 weeks of waiting to finally get this experience with my guitar.

It now plays and sounds better than ANY Les Paul that I have ever played. I am beyond thrilled with my decision.

I feel your pain. I put a Rebel Yell in the bridge of my Stripped 58, and it was all it needed. The 57/08 neck pickup is fine! I can cover all the parts in Fade To Black just as easily as Rooster!

I have the Abraxas set in my Bernie and they are fantastic.Classic PAF with a bit more oomph. I have Rebel Yells in a Gibson Firebird Studio and they are also superb.
