It's on the truck, it's out for delivery, and I am in agony pacing in front of the door!

I yanked the following "spare" parts from my parts-bin leftovers from past endeavors:

1. Set of SD Alnico II slash signature pickups
2. USA PRS Stop Tail (pulled from an S2 singlecut upgraded to the adjustable)
3. Tonepros locking USA studs/bushings
4. Grover kidney bean 18:1 nickel tuners
5. kluson deluxe tuners with amber (not green) keystones (these klusons have screw in bushings)
5. CTS 500K superpots.
6. Schaller strap locks
7. 10-46 and 11-48 ernie ball strings!

I will try the guitar first as is, but I feel like I am well prepared just in case.

I guess the three cups of coffee, monster energy, and constant checking the status are taking their toll. lol.

... back to shopping for a case :)

Would love to hear an A/B sound comparison of the stock pickups vs the Slash set, if you're so inclined.

I'll see what I can do. I was going to do the pickups/tuners/stop tail all at once, but maybe I can do the pickups first, then do the stoptail and tuners in 1. I'll record all three.

It came a bit ago - I have been playing it. I like the neck a lot. Reminds me of my 58 chambered RI (long since gone). Not impressed with the tuners though they are usuable. Setting up to do some clips real quick. This is a really nice guitar, the photos don't do it justice. It sounds good and plays really sweet. Hats off to proaudiostar for the ridiculous price and quick shipping too. I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase. For the paltry amount they were asking it was a real no-brainer.

Here's the obligatory pics. I am showing a couple of the tuners I am going to use on it, up by the headstock. I also don't care for the green knobs. lol. no big deal there.

Bah, I have to at least restring it, as I am getting my fingers covered in black stuff. Need to restring and clean/oil the fretboard.

Feels like stock 10-46 to me. How does it play with 11-48?

Nice one...interested to see how this progresses w.r.t. modifications. Congrats on the absolute steal!

Looks great! Remember, we're not supposed to discuss retail pricing. Enjoy that beast!

It's all come to a grinding halt.

Neither The tone pros locking USA studs with bushings nor the PRS usa studs and bushings are big enough for the holes in the S2 Bernie.

The S2 Bernie has gigantic sized bushings. Sorry I pulled them now. I guess I was supposed to buy METRIC. But I look at the metric pictures and those are wrong too.

Ugh.

Grind. Sputter. Stop.

Picking up some vintage sized gibson steel inserts tomorrow, which are ironically just a hair bigger than the SE ones so they can hopefully work.
