I feel bad that "Cheyenne" got kinda ignored with all of the excitement re: my PS20th and CE24. During the great purge of 2015, she fulfilled my wish for a "not too fancy 22-fret 85/15 stoptail that I could play everyday without intense fear of it being irreplaceable" guitar.

She originally came from MSL (beauty shots below) but I got her used for a really good price on Reverb (after unloading a few Strats that were gathering dust). She was advertised as "mint" and DAMN, seriously, not a scratch on her. After I cleaned the pickup covers off, she looked absolutely brand new. She still smells new too.

Cheyenne is sporting a custom color ("CC") MODCAT code apparently because she is dressed in a Blood Orange Wrap - no natural binding - pretty cool. Blood Orange is one of my favorite PRS colors - and this one is definitely more "blood" than orange - it's soooo red in person, it's like someone just literally bled all over. In a cool way. It's not gross...

My Jack Gretz WL McCarty (which is MAGICAL) definitely has more midrange (with the maple neck and Paul's brass-insert stoptail) but Cheyenne's all-'hoginess wins for throatiness and bottom end. I love these damn 58/15 / 85/15s. Sustain is off-the-charts with this one as well - definitely in my top 5.

I was never a McCarty dude, mostly because of the vintage-style tuners. I almost picked up an MC58 a few years ago. Now, the new McCartys with the Phase III tuners and 58/15s are fast becoming my new favorite.

I freakin' love that! Great, fantastic, and yeah, the wrap finish is off the chart cool.

Nice score Carl. That is one badazz axe. And Cheyenne, come on! That name's got me looking for my stash of singles! Sweet as sweet. A looker with a great stage name!

She's a beauty.

In certain lighting the Red is more intense in mine as well. Nice addition to your collection.

CHEYENNE - Derived from the Dakota word shahiyena meaning "red speakers". This is the name of a Native American people of the Great Plains. Thought it was cool. I use a baby name site to get ideas for all my girls ;)

Blood Orange WLs with maple necks seem pretty popular it seems.

This one is a standard run McCarty with a mahogany neck. My WL McCarty from Jack Gretz has the lovely satin-finished figured maple neck. She is a tasty McCarty burst.

You been holding out on us for that long?!?!? Well I never...
:D

Fantastic guitar!
