Got to see him a few years ago w/Bobby "Blue" Bland.

Sad news indeed.. As they say, "time passes no man." Still a bummer. I was fortunate to see him a couple of times, many years ago though. Back in the 80s with the Fabulous Thunderbirds, and in the early 90s with Buddy Guy and Etta James.

Very, very sad. Have seen him in his prime in the 70's (he was the opening act for Traffic at the Filmore East or NYC Academy of Music - can't remember) as well as in the 90's. Have learned a lot of great blues riffs from him.
