Automating Channel Switching on the PRS MT 100 – 7-Pin DIN Options

Hey all,
I’m considering buying the PRS MT 100, but I have a question about its channel switching before I pull the trigger.

I currently run a 3-channel Mesa Dual Rectifier, fully automated using TRS switching (Live show controlled by Ableton, sends MIDI to my pedalboard, pedalboard sends amp channel changes via TRS to the amp.)

Looking at the MT 100, I noticed it uses a 7-pin DIN jack for the footswitch. The manual simply says:

“7-pin DIN female jack. Only use provided PRS FS3B7D-MT 100 footswitch.”

That’s… not super helpful.

Has anyone managed to integrate the MT 100 into a MIDI-automated rig? Specifically:
  • Has anyone figured out the pinout or switching logic on the 7-pin DIN?
  • Is there a converter or workaround to interface it with MIDI/TRS-based switching?
  • Do we know if Tremonti himself automates his rig live?
I’ve searched everywhere, but there’s very little technical detail out there on this. Keen to know if anyone’s cracked it or worked around the proprietary footswitch.

Appreciate any insight!

Contact these guys. They make custom cables that would suit your needs.

Voodoo Labs can make you a cable that allows their Control Switcher to switch the amp channels. The Control Switcher can be controlled via MIDI. Email them to make you one in the correct length you need.

I've run this setup since the amp was released with no issues.
