Artist Package Question

Guys, last November I bought a 98 Custom 22 in Black Cherry. I posted it when I bought it. I can post pics later, but it's Black Cherry, matching headstock colour, PRS signature in gold and has gold hardware, including the winged locking tuners.

Someone at a gig asked me if it was an artist package Custom 22. I didn't know the answer. He said that it was too nice to be a Custom 22 without it being an Artist Package guitar, mostly because of the gold hardware.

Any thoughts before I post pics?

If memory serves, the Artist Package guitars around that time did not have painted headstocks, they had a veneer to match the fingerboard.

It should give you a little more info. I just assumed it was an AP 'cause of the gold hardware and the lack of a 10 top considering how nice it looks.

Pop the hood on that sucker and post a pic, I'm sure someone here will be glad to help.

Nope, not an AP. Just has the gold hardware option. The AP did have a rosewood veneer headstock overlay and paua inlay and birds.

Nice Black Cherry though. Play it with pride!
