Hi guys, I am new here, and considering my first PRS. I am looking for the Artist Package price list (interested in a P22). The link on the website does not work, and Ive emailed customer service a couple time and they have not responded, which I find weird. Does anyone have one they could post here or email me? Incidentally, is there such a thing as a price list for private stock?

thanks

Mike

There are several dealers here who I'm sure would be happy to help you.

Stopped into Best Buy a few weeks back, to get a gadget for my wife. Along the way I decided I wanted to see if they had a new Mac Pro, as a few stores had them in stock.

"This guy's the Mac expert," said the first person I asked, introducing me to a young geek.

"Great," I said. "Looking for a Mac Pro."

The guy leads me to the MacBooks. "Here ya go," he said.

"That's a MacBook Pro," I said. "I want a Mac Pro."

"No such thing as a Mac Pro," he replied.

"You're the Mac expert?"

"Yeah, been into them for years."

"Got a computer nearby?"

"Sure."

"Go the Apple website and educate yourself," I said. So he went over to the computer, looked at the website, and looked at me like a deer in the headlights.

"That's a Mac Pro," I said.

"That's a Mac Tower," he said. "No such thing as a Mac Pro." This despite, you know, the fact that they've been making these for years and it says "Mac Pro" on the website. I knew I was dealing with an idiot who didn't know a thing and did not deserve to be an Apple dealer.

So I walked out.

That's what you need to do with your local dealer. Walk out, and find someone who understands the product line.

I've had the very same experience in a Harley-Davidson dealership.
As a matter of fact, on more than a couple of occasions I felt like I knew more about the bikes than the sales guys.

Same experience with a Toyota dealer last year.

"Can you get me a TX Pro edition Toyota Tacoma?"
that doesnt exist
"Are you sure? Here's a picture of one from another Toyota dealer 15 miles away"
sometimes people slap stickers on models and call it something special so you spend more money...
"oh alright, interesting." - walked out.

I immediately looked on the toyota website 'tx pro' and there it was. So I sent them an email and said - can you find this truck for me, i was told it doesn't exist? And copied/pasted the link to them. I took my business to another dealer.

They never called back.

I wanted to try out a 408. I went to a local authorized dealer and seeing none, I asked about one. They handed me off the the store's 'PRS guy". He looked and looked at the same stock I had just looked over and said, "I don't think we have one - they may be too new..."

I suppose there is a reason I have visited that store many times over the years and have yet to buy so much as a pick from them...

I'd recommend getting in touch with the guys at musicstorelive.com. They're located in my home state of Vermont. I've had really good experiences with their sales team. Get in touch with Andy or Derek and I'm sure you'll be happy with their service.

It's funny, my wife is a makeup artist who demos products for several cosmetic companies, and knows her product lines inside and out. I find her studying the materials she gets all the time at home. She has a real interest in what she does.

That's the difference.

When she's in the stores working with the regular sales teams doing these demos, she sells a ton.

There's a reason why she's in demand, it's called expertise. She's also very good at the artistic part of it.

Some people take their work seriously, and keep learning as they go. For other people, work is just something to do between beers.

I was just re-reading this thread...

... written right there on the web page. So the guy was illiterate too....

But really Les, you should give the guy a break. He's the mac expert, tight? shouldn't that mean he knows even more than the people at Apple who do their website? I mean, the Apple folks obviously got it wrong.

BTW, I have been using Macs since they came out. I don't believe they have ever had a model with the official designation as 'tower.'

I think being a makeup artist would be fun.

wait...

you can't have beer at work?

Only if you're a dentist... ;)

Did I ever mention that many years ago, before I got into music, I defended dental mal cases for one of the big insurance carriers?

I have some stories ya wouldn't believe!
