I am considering picking up a really great playing and fantastic looking Artist 1. What is considered to be a fair price for one of these?

Thanks!

We are not allowed to discuss prices. I'd try eBay or Craigslist for a price .

I ended up pulling the trigger. It was made for and owned by Dan Huff. The guys at Rumbleseat treated me right.

Pics to come

I thought there was essentially a blanket ban on pricing discussions too, but apparently that applies mostly to Current models (or NOS, I suppose).

If an Artist I is not a current model, and hasn't been for a while, I think tossing around "typical" pricing wouldn't be frowned upon. Much like how you can mention that a Swamp Ash Special can go for $1.5K to $2K if in good condition, and CEs should be available around $1K.

That's my understanding, at least.

I sold my Artist 1 a couple of months ago for $4000. It was kind of a rarity. Semi-hollow, Gibson Tuneomatic, beautiful top, but a little rough.
Hope this helps,
Brad

Out of curiosity, I checked out Reverb.com (keyword "Artist", make: Paul-Reed-Smith). Just on the first page there are a few Artist 1/2/3 guitars there, range from $3000-ish to $6500-ish.

As always, a guitar (or anything) is only worth as much as someone is actively willing to pay for it.

Nah. Just retail price of new gear. We can discuss the value of old gear all day long.

Please do not discuss my value all day long. I need naps and can't keep up with the discussion.
