Are the MEV and Studio different enough to warrant getting both?

Hi!

I love both of these guitars, the versatility on both of them is truly amazing.
I was simply wondering whether or not you'd say that they cover a little bit too much of the same ground.
I know both have been described as P90-esque before, I feel like the Narrowfields have a bit more bite in the neck.
Perhaps the TCI's on the MEV could be described as more open and articulate.

Can anyone chime with their opinions? Perhaps folks that own both?

Thanks!

If playing both of them made you wonder whether there’s too much overlap, then there’s too much overlap to get both at one time.

Living with one of them for a while would probably help you decide whether you still want the other one.

Because the MEV’s pickups are clearer and more open, that’s how I’d roll.

Some players want several examples of one model, etc. That’s cool, it’s all personal choice, and I’ve been enthusiastic enough about some models that I’ve done the same thing.

At this point, however, I’d rather have a few guitars that are substantially different, as opposed to a lot that are subtly different, and leave it at that. Otherwise, I get paralysis by analysis and wind up accomplishing less musically.

But no two of us are exactly alike, and all this stuff is personal choice. I change my mind from time to time about all this, too.
