Archon with GCX/GCP. Has a final solution been found?

Ive been having a really hard time trying to find out how to switch archon channels with a ground control progcx setup. Theres a few threads here but none say which way works best. does anyone have any insight? Thanks

Great setup man....

Here is how things work fine...

As the Archon DIN jack is not used for MIDI messaging proper, it cannot be included in the MIDI chain (or controlled direcly with MIDI messages).

If you had a cable to break-out the 5-Pin DIN jack to individual 1/4 mono connectors, then these could mate with GCX loops (the OUTs) for switching type control. Voodoo Lab does not make any such cable.

But, they can build a custom cable for use with Control Switcher (as it has a DIN jack too).

The price of the custom cable is $40 + shipping according to them. And it can take up to two weeks to build once your order is placed.

I think I will switch to the RJM Rack Gizmo because it has a Midi in on the front (I hate it with the jack at the back with the GCX).

I actually looked into the mini gizmo and cable already. Im just wondering how to set it up. Im honestly brand new to the tune world since ive been going full digital frfr for 7 years or so.

Would it go like this?:
Special rjm cable from archon footswitch--->"to ampflifier" input on gizmo-->midi in from gizmo to midi out on the back of the gcx?

So actually, I do not know if the GCX and the Gizmo work together, but I guess they will. So yeah that would be your signal chain GCX--> GIZMO--> Custom Cable to Archon Footswitch Connector.

But if you are already using the GCX, why not go with the Control Switcher by Voodoo?
