Hi all. New to the forum. Looking at possibly picking up an Archon 50 Mk2 version.
The amp currently has 6L6GC's in it. The person selling is not very familiar with tube swapping/types. I have been trying to find out if the Mk2 version of this amp has the ability to take EL-34's and their variants (6CA7/KT-77) with a bias of course. I know you can bias the amp on the back but there is a lot of conflicting info about whether or not you can switch between the 2 types of power tubes.
I am an EL-34 guy coming from the Marshall side of amps, so I would really like to replace the 6L6 with and EL-34 in this amp.
I did a search and did not see any specific replies, so apologies if this has been covered.
Thanks in advance.
Geoff
