Archon 25 vs Archon 50

Greetings all!

I am currently deciding on a new primary combo amp and the Archon seems to be the best bet.
I'm wondering if anyone has played both the 50 and the 25 watt, specifically in combo form.
If so, how would you compare and contrast the two?
I am in a location that has no PRS dealers within a 3 hour radius, so I am probably going to have to order an amp blind.
I know how subjective tone is, but if anyone can weigh in with their opinions of the two amps, it may help me make the correct decision.

To be honest...you can't go wrong with either amp. If you're playing in a volume-challenged environment, the 25w might be the better choice. If you gig and need the extra headroom, get the 50w. I've played through both versions and love them both!!!

Kinda in the same boat as you currently. For myself I'm trying to break out of the Marshall/Fender/Mesa mentality and try something different. After doing some looking I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on the 50 watt because you can run it at half power at 25 watts. So kinda the best of both worlds. The concern I would have with the 25 watt combo is the 5881 tubes it is running. I think those tubes are fine and musical sounding but the bottom end might suffer some especially since an open back combo is already suffering from some loss of bottom end. I suppose you could always just run it through closed back cab though. Arghh... Decisions, decisions...
