Archon 25 In The House

I asked some questions about these amps a while back, as Anthony from Lucky Dog Guitars down in Cleveland, TN had it for sale. That's just an hour and a half from here, and he had a fair price on it. After getting some good info on here (Thanks fellas!), I be-bopped down I-75 and made the deal. It has the cover, footswitch, & power cord, all like new. Just getting to know it. I've used the same amp for about 12 years gigging (Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister18), and it's a different animal. Once I feel like I've got this dialed in I'll take it out and see how it does in the band mix.

This is a combo, so it will Q out differently than my 50 because I usually use it with closed or (Thiele) ported cabs. I always look at settings of other users though, because I can instantly translate that to what it should sound like.

Big win. My first PRS amp was an Archon 25, and I loved it. While i love having my Archon 50, I miss the portability of the 25 combo.

You do need one! We all know how much DTR adores his and pushes the Archon every chance he gets. Ask him who convinced him do ditch his MkV and get an Archon.

Great little combo, congrats on a great USA PRS amp!

Seeing where the lead gain is set on yours you might consider a 5751 in V3 for better control (the 8:15 setting became 11:00 on my 25 combo) and a slightly sweeter & less harsh tone.
