I love the way they keep saying "high modules" instead of high modulus to describe the graphite. DOH!
I had a full graphite neck on a Strat for awhile. It never reacted to hot stages or humidity, but it just lacked something. It sounded crisper and more clinical than a wood neck.
Maybe making a wood neck with a graphite core like he seems to have done would be a nice compromise.
It's a great idea, and works very well. Here's a quote and link to imho the best acoustic experience available. Would love to hear what these PRS' sound like with the 408s!
http://mcphersonguitars.com/technology/ "This system starts with a carbon graphite truss rod, which is much larger than any other on the market. The carbon rod runs the length of the neck from the tongue to the headstock. Through this carbon rod we install a brass taper pin down into the heel and then tie these together using a stainless steel screw, which is sent through the carbon rod and tapped into the brass pin. This system prevents any flex not only in the neck itself but also in the neck heel."
