Anyone know if Silver Sky pickup covers can be removed?

Hi,
I'd like to swap the pickup covers on my Silver Sky, but a quick look at them makes me think they can't be easily removed. Has anyone done this, or do you know if they can be removed?

Thanks!

I don’t think they can be- haven’t ever seen anyone try. I’m not sure how they’re fastened on though, you may want to call PRS to find out how they’re fastened

My thoughts too. Even if I could get the covers off, I'm not sure they're the same size as a standard Fender; the Silver Sky's covers look just a bit smaller to me.
Thanks

Are we talking the core? The issue with the core cover is that the shape is proprietary. No fender pickup cover will fit. Also no fender pickup will even fit in the guitar unless you route it. There are a couple on reverb that have started making covers solely for the SS core. They aren’t cheap like fender covers but it a niche market and almost nobody makes them.

Now the SE model: has again odd shaped pickup covers but the guitar will fit almost any standard single coil with ease due to wider routing. Covers can be found on reverb thru guys that make them. But the ability to swap with standard fender single coils is tantalizing since the options are practically limitless. Heck I wonder if a single coil size humbucker would work. Maybe one day I’ll give that a whirl.

Yes, it's a core. I found a seller on Reverb that makes replacement covers. I'm checking to make sure they will work with the proprietary PRS covers.

The other issue is that the stock covers seem to be glued on; they don't come off easily. I have not tried to pry them off or assert any pressure as I don't want to break them. I'm trying to find out if they pop off, or if they're really not meant to be removed.

I wouldn’t be surprised if PRS waxed the pickups with the covers on…
