I kinda resisted this group from the beginning. Even though I've always liked King's X a good amount. George Lynch was one of my first favorite guitar players when I was a kid...the 80's stuff was turned on to me at a VERY young age(8 or 9?) by my older cousin. I got turned on to Ray Luzier when he joined the DeLeo brothers in Army of Anyone. Great drummer that has constant movement but still lays down a heavy groove. So for whatever reason, I just kind of poo poo'd the idea of this band even after I heard a few clips. The other day I decided to listen to King's X Dogman, which led me to revisiting KXM and I really kinda like a lot. Great playing, tones. They keep things interesting enough without getting over indulgent. I actually watched a bunch of behind the scenes stuff on youtube prior to listening to whole songs, which were kinda cool. So I'm late to the party, but maybe some you might like it.

I'm in the same boat...got into King's X back in the 90's as they were breaking. Loved the first 4 albums, then I kind of dropped them by the wayside. Not really sure why. I still like their stuff, but don't listen to it much. Liked Dug in The Mob with Reb Beach about 10 years ago. Always liked his voice. I was a teenager in the early/mid 80's and Lynch was one of my favs (still is). Never liked Korn, so I'm not really familiar with Luzier, although I did like Army of Anyone. Never realized he was in it. I dig the KXM too. You're right on the money with your assessment about not being over indulgent. I'll have to check out the Pinnich Gales Pridgen though. Haven't heard any of that.
