Anyone ever drill a hole in pickguard for a mini switch?

I'm planning on getting new pickups for my SE Custom SH and wanted to install a switch to tap the coils. I won't be doing the work, but wanted to know if it can be done without damaging it.

Also, where would be the best place to put it?

I say drill it, switches are cool! Location would depend on how the body is routed underneath the pickguard. The mini toggles I used are about the width of a dime, so wherever fits.
Nice guitar!!

Thanks!

I kinda like the idea of a switch added instead of push/pull pot. Also looking at possibly installing a killswitch.

Of course if I want to do a killswitch that limits locations for extra switch. I might have to just pull the pickguard off and see what I have to work with.
