Any tone loss with a piezo bridge?

There’s a custom 22 core tremolo with piezos for sale locally that I’m curious about. For those with recent year prs/piezo core guitars, is there any tone difference/loss with piezo saddles?

I haven't A/B'd piezo and non-piezo on the same guitar, but the Hollowbody II Piezo has some tremendous thump on the lower strings and great energy transfer and tone on all the strings. I did switch a McCarty from the 1-piece bridge to an adjustable which took a bit of 'ping' out of the highs.

I have tested this and yes there is a difference in tone between the adjustable/piezo and the standard. The difference isn't huge but the standard wraparound one piece has more pronounced mids, while the piezo bridge had an overall brighter sound, but that might be my ears being fooled due to the lack of mids. Either way it wasn't a massive sonic change, and the intonation adjustability is a plus, but if you're a tone freak that seeks fat mid tones I feel the standard bridge to be superior.

Thanks. I am a bit of a "tone freak" ;-) and am less into having a guitar with Piezo as a feature verses just a good sounding guitar. This was a Custom 22 with tremolo and Piezo and is non-returnable/private seller. I used to have a hand made Carruthers with a Piezo fixed bridge and the only "weird" thing as that the strings seems to slip a little on the bridge saddle when you bent notes. I assume that's not the case with the PRS version since it's not a Gibson style bridge.
