Any tips on how to carefully remove the 9V from the SE Piezo models?

So many people have broken the wires when replacing the battery on the SE Piezos, and I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to best be careful?

I'd say just being aware and extra careful to go slow, don't pull any harder or farther than you need to (and hope for the best!)
