Long story - last week I decided to sell some of the spare pickups, parts, and pedals I have laying around. Then, on a whim, I looked at my pedalboard, ripped my Holy Grail Nano off, and sold it. It was reverb, and it was just kinda there... didn't sound bad, but also didn't turn me on much. Also considering a new delay pedal, I have a Visual Sound tap delay and like it, but I just have an itch I guess.

For reverb, I'm a big fan of the Fender style, a little brighter and just sounds more "there" to me. So for that sound, I think the Wampler Faux Spring Reverb would be a great choice, but I also ran across the TC Electronic T2, and it has some very cool textures. Unfortunately, though, no spring reverb. So I'm wondering, is there a good toneprint that I could load or make to emulate the Fender type spring reverb. Also, anyone tried the Flashback?

I have the mini HOF. I haven't looked for spring reverb specifically, but I gotta believe there's some in there. I'm really happy with the sound quality of the verbs I've gone thru on it. Stellar sound, low price. As soon as I get time for a rig tear down, it will end up in there. I NEED to get my Strymon timeline in there! I really only ever use one basic verb sound. That will mean a bunch of midi program changes, so I need a good block of time.

I always use my amp reverb, so haven't tried the HOF, but the Flashback is great. I had the original for a while and then upgraded to the X4. One of these days, I'll get an expression pedal to use with it for even more versatility. I guess I'm pretty easy to please, because I have barely used the TonePrints. There are so many options ready to go, I'm sure you can find something you like. And if that isn't enough, you can download the TonePrint Editor and create your own.

TC electronics = high quality, professional grade products.
And the Toneprint app / feature is one of the best uses of technology I've experienced!

I've used various TC gear in the studio for 25 years. They have always been known for seriously good time-based effects like reverb, delays, etc., from their high end studio gear like their $8000 reverb system, to their pedals, such as their SCF chorus that's been a studio classic for over 25 years.

I would always recommend at least checking out TC equipment. A given TC item may or may not be for you, but they are worth a look-see.

I have a Trinity reverb which I love, but for spring reverb I like the Malekko Spring Chicken better, that one sounds amazing IMHO

Maybe it was the unit I purchased but I had bad luck with a TC reverb, it acted wonky from the beginning and died after 6 months of use. Picked up a Boss digital reverb to replace it, not as good as the ART rack reverb I used to have but it will do. Heard a lot of good things about TC so that's why I bought it but my experience was negative.

They deserve a metal for it, really.

Here is the TonePrint page for the HOF. Robben Ford's "Spring Fever" might be a good place to start.

I was looking at new effects and got turned on to TC.....and after reading about "Toneprint", I was dying to try them.

On my board, I have the Corona Chorus, and I use the Toneprint setting to emulate my old Boss Dimension.

I have the Flashback Delay AND the Alter Ego Delay....they are AMAZING. I will run them both in 2290 setting to get the U2 vibe. The Alter Ego NAILS David Gilmour.

They just released a Phaser. So I plan on trying that and the Flanger.

Like everyone else here that has replied.....TC stuff is incredible. Top shelf gear....you wilt be disappointed at all!!!

I have a Nova System which I love... The reverbs are great in the nova, as are all other effects, including the analog od/distortion!

I always loved the 2290. It'll be interesting to see what happens now that they're owned by Behringer.

Well, you just killed 100% of my interest in further TC gear. LOL

I really don't like Behringer equipment, nor do I much care for their business practices.

What???Behringer???? You've got to be kidding. I've been using a GMajor forever and would love to upgrade but Behringer?????

Wow, Behringer? That's a surprise. I'm not a fan of Behringer much either... although I have to admit, they have a pretty nice live monitor system that was installed at my church. I don't play there often, but the system allows each musician to create their own monitor mix via a small control pad mounted to their music stand, very cool and I've liked it the few times I've used it. But as far as guitar gear, never been into them. Don't they also own Bugera and Blackheart (and probably a ton of others)?

Anyways, looks like a T2 and a Flashback are going to happen. Sold enough stuff on the bay that I can get them without taking anything out of my pocket, nice! I'm hoping to use the 2290 and tape delay settings, along with my current VS Tap Delay, to experiement and get something similar to what Andy Timmons does with a pair of Memory Man pedals. Love that guy's tone. And just finding a nice spring for the T2 and using some of the stock presets to make some nice foundations for new ideas. Thanks for the input guys!

I have an old TC Electronics "Booster+ Line Driver & Distortion" pedal that I used for years. Dragged aorund on stages....studio....that thing still works fine. I got it out somewhat recently and used it with a Pignose amp. I was messing around trying to use old stuff that runs on batteries. This clip is the Pignose....the Booster pedal (the mic is resting on it) and an old Zoom pedal for reverb. The Booster really evens out the sound. Its not a high gain pedal.

it's been a few months since Behringer acquired TC and TC still seems to be chugging along just fine. The new acoustic pedal looks particularly interesting for me.

I have a G-System. Does just about everything I need - except distortion.

Someday I'll learn to program it.
