Any fiction readers on the Forum?

Better, meh, there's no accounting for taste. Abercrombie and Parker have a fascinating command of the English language - absolutely amazing. The others i listed are mostly LitRPG with unique mechanics, Shirtaloon being the most complex and intricate.
Interesting, fascinating command of the language is exactly what I'm looking for. Sounds opposite of Sanderson's economic prose.

Lots of great authors already mentioned, to add some without duplicating previous:

Don Winslow's "Power of the Dog", and "The Cartel" are two of the best books I've ever read (drug wars)

Mark Greaney's "Grey Man" series is lots of fun, while avoiding most of that genre's typical cliches (espionage/action)

Richard Stark's "Parker" series, old-school heist books!

Bruce Holsinger "The Displacements" is about the devastation after a huge storm and trying to reestablish your life

Adrian McKinty "The Chain", crazy (scary!) child kidnapping with a twist
