This sort of brings me to an article I read on Facebook the other day. It said most people don't discover anymore "new" music after they turn 31. I'm 46, and wanting to prove that I'm an enlightened musician, I wanted to disprove that. I had to begrudgingly admit they were kind of right. Sure, I didn't really listen to guys like Gary Moore and Joe Bonamassa 15 years ago, but I WAS listening to blues in addition to Van Halen, Zeppelin, Rush, etc., so to me, Gary and Joe weren't really "new music".
I will admit that lately, I've become a little obsessed with Avenged Sevenfold. Sure, I've listened to hard rock, and some metal for years. But I honestly feel like they bring something new to the table. I'd be happy to hear of some other cool bands.
