I teased my daughter about buying me something, and told her as long as she was here, I was good. She ended up being home earlier last night than planned, so we delayed dinner so she could join us. My son had to work - then denied me pizza tonight by making plans, only to have them fall through.
But I have two healthy, reasonably happy kids who, while not problem-free, give me so little cause to worry, I can't complain. Not at all.

My Daughter Rachelle, brought a Song to me she had written that she was inspired from a bunch of unfinished songs and notes she found laying around in my guitar room. She has been kinda sneaky and dropping little references (specific Lyrics) that were pcs of those songs in conversation over the last couple of weeks... Like saying "Dad, this is my 'Life of Life', your playing that 'Old Guitar around my young pup' or Hey look its '5:03' " from those notes/lyrics. It was an awakening when she gave me this yesterday. I had no Ideal that she even cared about those songs or what I wrote and the references she had dropped never stuck. These aren't songs I ever expect to leave my house. Just some personal expressions that I have jotted down, so I was very honored by her expression of Love!

That is such a cool story.
Every now and then a day comes along where I really, really wish I had some family of some kind; this is one of those days. But, reading stories like yours - and the others in this thread - warms my heart and makes me so happy for each of you.
