Hey guys,

I'm having yet another issue with this guitar. Bought the guitar supposedly new but when I got it there was scratches on the back plate for the cavity, one of the intonation screws was falling out( high e string) and now I'm realizing the tremolo arm doesn't fit properly I basically had to force it into the hole and now noticing the guitar just won't stay in tune for some reason.

I thought the studio's came with a rubberized tube to insert the arm into not a plastic one. I had to return another one of these for other issues and was certain it had a rubber sleeve not plastic.

It seems like this guitar has had work done on it that I'm not happy about.

Can also see excess glue up by the nut that I'm pretty sure isn't normal.

Can anyone else confirm the term hold has a rubber insert am I misremembering this?

The other ones I returned I didn't have any issues getting the tremolo bar into the guitar.

I don't have that model, but as far as I know all PRS trems have a small screw going into the trem arm hole to help keep it in place/adjust tension on how loosely it swings. Maybe on yours the screw was too far in, so it was hard to get the arm in?

As for your other issues, definitely seems suspect to me. Maybe it was a floor demo, or had a subpar setup job done before it got to you? Bottom line though, you bought a premium guitar that sounds like it's in less than premium condition. I'd either return it too, or at least negotiate a partial refund

That sounds pretty messed up for a new PRS from the factory. The trem arm socket is lined with a fairly hard plastic-like material. It might be Delrin. I've never seen a rubber-like material in PRS tremolos from 1989 to 2023. There's a grub screw on the back of the trem that tightens or loosens the grip on the trem arm. Back that out, and the bar should not be hard to push in.

I had to return another 2024 PRS Studio and I'm almost certain it had a rubber insert sleeve and fit like a glove and was perfect.

I think I'm going to have to return this and then insist on them selling me one that's sealed in the box from PRS. If they can't do that I'll just order it somewhere else. Cause yeah this things backplate was majorly scratched up which it shouldn't be new and shouldn't have those other issues either.

This is my 2024 Studio. Not sure if this pic helps

Trem arms are no big deal, the grub screw takes care of that. Plastic or rubber bushing, who cares? It doesn’t fit or not fit because of the bushing material. The scratches would piss me off enough to send it back. I don’t know where you are, but if you can, go to a reputable dealer. If you can’t, several of us have had great success with some of the smaller PRS dealers.
