I played an open mike, like a month ago. it went pretty well.
got a call a couple of days ago to see if I would be interested in doing a set.
yeah, why not. no pay, that's cool, don't want any. i seem to fill in for a lot of guitarists when they are sick, hungover, stoned, wedding ... whatever. i never charge. never going to take money from another guys pocket.

anywho, so tonite i played a lot of country blues. blind lemon, blind blake, charley patton, big bill bronzy, along with some choice cuts from merle travis, jerry reed and dvr.

I'm a 100% certain that no one cares, but this is the song that sent me down that road. learned it when i was 15. of course, my dad taught it to me, but i still had to be interested and willing to put in the time and effort.
as a piece of trivia, when doc plays the b chord stuff, some of it is actually the "Hendrix" chord. I had no idea. when I finally realized and told my dad (struttin' like a peacock), he said "about fng time ... and by the way, grow your hair longer."

i don't know about anyone else, but the first time i held a guitar when i was 12, it was nirvana.
it all felt so right.

band back to normal this week which is cool.
