Guess I've been bitten by the PRS bug; just brought home a like-new McCarty 594. Beautiful playing, sounding, and looking guitar. My question is...in the little plastic bag in the storage compartment of the case are two thumbwheels for adjusting the bridge. There's already two on the guitar. Why the extra wheels??

Thanks for any help......

Interesting that you have extras of those. Mine did not come with them and neither did the other PRS guitar I have that has a similar bridge. Maybe the previous owner changed out the stock ones for some reason and included the stock ones with the guitar when they sold it.

Duh, "problem" solved....what I thought were thumbwheels for the bridge turned out to be the original strap buttons. First owner must have gotten frustrated trying to get any kind of strap on those huge buttons and swapped them out for, what looks like, Les Paul buttons. If I would have looked more closely at the buttons, you can easily see they are smooth, not notched like bridge adjusters are.

I'm glad to hear you're enjoying your new McCarty 594. As for the extra thumbwheels, they are actually for adjusting the intonation on the guitar. Each string has its own saddle on the bridge, and the thumbwheels allow you to fine-tune the intonation of each string. Hope that helps! Also, as a fun fact, I ordered a few Halloween bags for my kids, and they delivered 250 pieces, LOL. So it's never a problem when you got more than you need, haha.
