It is undeniable that they exist and it is undeniable that we can predict when they will become visible. It is undeniable that the calculations which predict the appearance are based on the time it takes the comet to orbit the sun.

How can the calculation be reliably predictable if the entire foundation is wrong?

It's most likely that you haven't had a discussion with someone that actually knows the good book. There are answers to most questions in the good book but very little chance of finding someone who's willing to do the research.
