I like the song - you know it well, you're a good player with a good voice, and that's great!
My only suggestion is I'd love to hear it feeling less like a run-through, and more like a 'giving it all I've got' emotional performance. You can do it.
Thanks for the insight. One of the reasons I'm posting videos is because I do tend to tense up in front of the camera, and I'm working on getting through that and getting the performance down. Also, glad it sounded like I know the song well, because I just learned it.
It's really hard not to tense up during a take, or a video, I know from experience. Just needs a little more juice.
I hope the suggestion wasn't unwanted - I figure we're all in this creative thing together, and it's good to learn from each other.
I'm more of a Top Hat guy than a derby guy, so I need this outfit...
Goodness knows, Fred Astaire left everything on the field...
Trey Anastasio is very ....... "specific". Ridiculous guitar player, and schooled theoretical musician. But, unless you are part of the "crowd", most people wouldn't know him if they bumped into him on the streets.these last couple songs you’ve done, are songs I hadn’t heard before.
Yeah, I know who is is and plays for, I‘ve just never been a big Phish fan so I haven’t checked out his other stuff either.Trey Anastasio is very ....... "specific". Don’t laugh, Aahzz, but you these last couple songs you’ve done, are songs I hadn’t heard before. You did a good job on both of them! Gave you a couple likes on the tube as well
Well you keep playing em’ and then I’ll know more of their stuff! Thanks! I'm not surprised you hadn't heard either. Tim Minchin isn't well known in the US, and Trey's solo stuff is also not well known outside of the Phish community.
I was at Clifford Ball....In fact, in the DVD Set, My car is the 1980 Ford Granada that is in the last DVD showing the aftermath of all the dibris and garbage that was left. (me and a friend "fell asleep" ... aka...passed out, in the car the night before after some ganja goo balls and didn't wake up until most everyone was already gone).Good job Mr. Aahzz, I am one of the other Phish lovers here! Just saw them at Alpine Valley this past weekend (3 nights) and it was KILLER!! Been seeing them since the 90's (Great Went, Clifford Ball, LemonWheel) and will always check out their act when I have a chance!!! Awesome to hear you taking on Trey's stuff, no small task!!!! Keep 'em comin'!!!!!
