Another boring Archon love post

I can't help it. Went to rehearsal last night and just can't stop loving my Archon. Playing everything from Rollin in the Deep to Honky Tonk Woman to Rock n Roll Band to Man in the Box and the thing just kills it.

Dude, I love these posts just because I know how much they torture DreamTheaterRules!

Dig the Custom 50. I have a combo and I would call it a cousin to the Archon. IMO, the Archon is the next step to the Custom 50. They are similar, but different. I would say the Archon is a Custom on steroids.

That was my understanding. I'd like a lower-gain little-sister amp for my Archon. Or maybe an Archon combo for smaller gigs. Or maybe...

The Custom would fit that bill. I had an Archon 25 combo, but it isn't the same thing. Sold it, and replaced it with an Archn 50 head. Couldn't be happier.

Did you run the 25 through different
Cabs ??

Evlis and Bodia... my two BROTHERS! My two best friends in the world. WHERE'S THE LOVE???

HAHAHAHA

And yes, the new TC looks really cool! But NOT until after I own an Archon. I just missed another one. Guy was honest all along that he needed the cash and would have to take a cash deal if it came along, but we had a trade+cash deal agreed on and were making plans to meet. He got a cash offer 2 days ago. :( I need to get this Vox sold and just buy a new one. Elvis, save that black maple panel for the front in case I need it!

Look man... I like you and everything (in a manly sort of way of course), but why you gotta fill my head with this Schlitz?
Why?
Just... sob...

I consider my Archon to be my #1 Do Anything amp. But I realized recently that if I were challenged to rush off to a gig very abruptly and I was limited to one amp, one guitar, no pedals, one electrical socket and didn't know what kind of music I would be called upon to play (sounds like a good challenge thread) what would I bring to the gig?... that the Archon does not have reverb. I have a lot of amps and my backup amp to the Archon does keep its paces with the Archon and it also has reverb. Maybe one day they will come out with a lunchbox sized Archon that will include reverb in order to accomplish such a challenge without having to go with a brand X amp.

No, I did not. It's a longer story though. I had a MkV and the Archon combo. Thought they were too similar and traded the Archon on an HXDA since it was completely different. Immediately missed the Archon. Sold the MkV and replaced it with an Archon 50 head.

Why don't you guys all live within 30 minutes of me and we could do an amp exchange thing??!! "Here, borrow my Archon for a gig" or "take my Super Dallas to practice this week" and stuff. There is no better way to convince a musician about a gear choice than to loan it to them for a real-world test drive. The real estate market in Indy is pretty good right now. :D
