Hi all, first post here.
I just got this Goldtop Custom 24 30th Anniversary beauty a few weeks ago and thought I should share a family pic with other PRS lovers like me.

Hope you'll enjoy.

Thanks, guys.

Just so you know what's there, from left to right:
1) 1988 Custom 24
2) 1989 Studio
3) 1990 "Special". Not sure if this is really a special, though. It doesn't have the middle single coil, but it does have trem up routing. I'll open another topic with details later so people can help me identify the model.
4) 1995 Custom 22
5) 2006 Single Cut Trem 20[SUP]th[/SUP] Anniversary
6) 2008 Mira (the real one :))
7) 2013 408 with brazilian rosewood fretboard
8) 2015 Custom 24 30[SUP]th[/SUP] Anniversary

That is an amazing family, and bonus forum points for arranging the photo in chronological order!

According to some case candy I got with a really nice used 1991 CU24, the "Special" was a mahogany body, wide-thin with a BRW fretboard, 5-way rotary and HFS/VB. Stock colors were Vintage Cherry and Vintage Mahogany. Sounds like your #3.

Thanks, CantankerousCarl.
It does sound like my #3. But according to Model History on the Customer Support page, Specials came with a middle single coil. Hence the doubt.

SPECIAL: 1988 - 1991. Developed for the ‘hard rock/metal player’, wide-thin neck, trem-up routing for a full tone up, volume and tone controls with 5 way rotary, HFS Treble pickup, PRS single coil in middle, HFS Bass pickup (changed to Vintage Bass humbucker by 1989).

Thanks, CantankerousCarl.

If you had a 22-fret Special that would be the case, but you have a 24-fret variant, which cannot support another pup in the middle, even a single coil - there isn't room to place it cleanly!

And keep in mind the Model History is not perfect - there may be small-run models that got missed, or variants that were forgotten:

This list has been partially compiled through the collective memories of long-term employees at PRS Guitars and may not be 100% accurate.

Thanks for the insight, shinksma.
I'll just take it as a "Special 24" for now.
I have no plans for selling it so whatever it is, it's fine.
It pleases me!
:)

Rock on!

Nice group shot. I've never seen a studio before except in the PRS book.

Beautiful family shot and welcome in our midst
I don't think your Goldie got her enough beauty shots (like she deserves)
so can you post some more with close ups?
Big Congrats
