Hi everyone, my name's Shane I'm from Philly. Bought a gorgeous tortoise shell Angelus SE A10 used about 2 months ago from reverb, seem like it had been sitting for a while, was a little dirty had the bass strings strung the wrong way... Very old and crusty strings. Cleaned it all up and changed the strings properly, but the action is sky high and I haven't been playing it as much as I should do to that.

I've only done work on cheap acoustic guitars so I'm a little scared to start messing with it.

So my questions are:
·Is there a shim under the saddle?
·Do I adjust the truss rod with a 4 mm allen wrench?
·how do I get the action as low as possible, even at the 12th fret and higher?

Welcome to the forum Shane.

Someone with an SE will probably come by in a bit.
In the meantime, I don’t think PRS puts a shim under the saddle, though it is conceivable that a previous owner did.
Use whatever fits the truss rod. My core Angelus uses a small hex wrench, not an Allen key.

I think the truss rod is going to be your friend here. Just go slow - painfully slow, if necessary - and give it time to settle. Go 1/8-1/4 turn at a time. A little can go a long way.
