Hello all,

I’m glad I found this place, I’ve been wondering about this for several years now but had no idea where to ask.

About 15 years ago my parents surprised me with a PRS singlecut. It had some interesting info on the back of the headstock, so I played it sparingly and tried to take good care of it.

Fast forward and life has happened. I stopped playing, had a kid, and one more on the way.

I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me some background on this particular guitar, and if you could estimate a value for it, or point me in the direction of a reliable resource for that.

Thanks very much for your time. Also I apologize if the formatting is poor, I’m trying to do everything on my phone.

It looks to me like a Limited Edition SC with an added middle pickup and gold hardware. It is a first year for that model and that may be why they did the LE. Regular guitars of that era go used for about $1500 - $1800 (if they have birds). Yours has dots. That may or may not be an issue depending on the buyer. Some require birds, some would rather have the dots. How much an LE adds to the price tag also depends on the buyer. Some will pay a premium for that and others simply don't care. The third pickup may also be a buyer's preference. Some see it as getting in the way, others see it as more tonal opportunities. So you have lots of ways that your price could swing up or down. Of course you can start high and wait for that guy that wants all of those attributes and lower the price if you are not getting any interest.

I think it is a maple top. As for semi-hollow, I’m not sure. How would I check to find out?

An email to PRS Custome rService would be the best way. Probably the easiest, too.

Killer guitar!

There's also a tap technique, but you have to bring it to my house. It involves tapping on the guitar body and comparing the sound to tapping on my head.

Congrats on the guitar!
