Hey all. I'm new here and I had a few questions about the prs "30" amp. I haven't played one yet and some reviews are great and some say ok. I have an orange or15 w/avatar 2x12 Celestio v30/h30 which I actually love but don't use and recently put up for sale. Guy wants to trade for a prs 30 combo. It's stock and like new so he says. My question is really- how are these amps.... really? I play black crowes, oasis, blues, mad season, alt type music. Any help would be great. I'm nervous but also don't want this to slip away either. Cheers.

Don't worry about it slipping away, there will always be others. If you're not entirely comfortable with the trade, don't do it. I wouldn't trade for an amp that I hadn't heard or was able to check out at the time of the trade (and back out of, if anything were wrong), myself. There will always be other amps. They tend to show up immediately after I don't need it any more or something.

Thanks very much. You're right. No one around my area carries the 30 so I'm intrigued. I might be able to try the amp but don't want to waste my time either. Then there is always the one 12 verse 212 thing I am wondering if I am better with the 212 but hear that the 112 PRS is pretty big soundinch. Any input on these amps in general. Cheers

I don't have a "30" unfortunately. But I have an HXDA and DG30, and after owning quite a number of highly regarded high end amps for my studio, PRS amps are my favorites, ever. I've been using them in my ad recording work since 2012-13, when the HXDA came out.

They're great sounding, fully professional, and reliable amps. Doug Sewell is a very talented amp designer, and his team at PRS do great things.

I had never heard of it but I do really like what I am hearing in some of the demos
I think it would be a good trade !!!!
