I am putting the final specs together on a new PS, and I think I want to go with Americana birds. I love the pattern they are in, and although they would probably look best (due to the material they are made with) with a natural type color, I found a pomegranate guitar that they looked really nice on as well. I am going to go with a Pomegranet quilt Maple headstock this time, and I will leave it to the PS team to do a headstock Eagle in materials to match the americana birds. Thoughts? Yes, no, good, awful?? Samples below. Thanks for your thoughts!

I DO like them. Do NOT have a guitar so equipped. Thought about the one below when it came up, but......

One attraction is no doubt the Bald Eagles that nest near us. Magnificent!

I love' em too but I think they match best with earthy autumn tones IMO
here's a thought! Why don't you concoct a new brownish orangey color like a mix of tiger eye
with a solana burst glow or something to that fashion, but you know best what your heart desires
if pomegranate you fancy than pomegranate it shall be.
the best of luck in your hunt, dazzle us...

I agree, but I think they also look good with the Pomegranate for some reason, and I LOVE that Pomegranate. :) Thanks for the love, I am going with them!

Great pics! They look AWESOME!

You should get flowers instead.

Would love a Rosewood LTD inlay, but playing them confuses me. I get lost on the fretboard to easy without easy to see marks. I had a tree of life inlay on a Buscarino Monarch special that was beautiful, but I struggled playing it at times, jumping to a fret to high or to low on difficult moves. :(

I'd like them with just about any color - after all, the fingerboard is wood, too.

But I agree that they're outstanding with the earth tones.

You just need to start practicing while wearing one of these helmets.

FWIW, I think I am doing much better on guitar (THAT is a relative thing!) since I stopped "tilting" the guitar so much to SEE the fretboard/inlays, relying more upon the dots in the side of the neck as a visual reference. (As much as I DO love the "flash" of fancy inlays).

NOW and THEN, less is a nice change of pace.....(Okay, non-PRS example):

Agree Les, but the Pomegranate just knocks me out, and this time they are using a piece of the selected top to match the dye to the sample. I will be able to see and approve it before the top is stained, so no more problems!!!! If there is, I only have to look in the mirror to yell at someone. At this point I am also torn between another with the Artist 3 semi hollow build I have and love so much, or a CU 22 semi hollow F hole with RW neck and nitro. If the economy was better, I would do both! :D This one is funded purely on sold gear funds. I only have the Pomegranate and Walnut LTD in PRSs right now. Sold the 2 PSs I had and am selling a Strat and Tele as well. I think I am heading towards 3 PRSs, a Gibson 359 I already have and my existing Gibson Johnny Smith. I have really moved away from fenders now, although I do love them and would love to keep what I have. PRS just happens to make the electrics that I can not get away from. These two I have are unbelievable, and yet I think I could get the LTD even better for me with a RW neck and nitro. The CU 22 LTD series is flat out amazing!!!!

I love the Americana Birds quite a bit. While I probably do like them with an earthy color, I think they will go well with the Pomegranate. Maybe use the materials for the birds that are bit pinkish/purple in color to match the finish a little bit? Also, I don't know which board you will go with, but maybe an Ebony board will help the birds "pop" a bit more.

Love em! I was seriously thinking of Americanas, but then saw paua/ Pearl outlines and went with those for my PS. I'd LOVE to see them on an acoustic.
