Am I the only one...

I have a few amazing Core Prs, a '92 CU24 and a '08 Mira which have thousands of gigging hours on them. But most recently I find myself reaching for my 2018 SE CU24 for jamming and even gigs. Not because I don't want to play my core out ... but because it is just so nice to play. I like the weight and balance, the feel of the maple neck and the tone of the pickups. It's just fun to play.

Anyone else find themself reaching for the SE when they have Core guitars?

I’ve had a couple of SE electrics that have come and gone. Not my thing. My Yamaha from Taiwan is a better “beater.”

My 2013 SE acoustic from Korea is unlikely to leave anytime soon. I don’t play enough acoustic to justify anything fancier.

I'm bucking the trend here. My SE's get more playing time because they're set up better for practice with lighter strings yet still sound great with the upgraded pups and with at least some distortion.

My S2s get the most...like the pattern regular shape and body carves but my SE SAS is a blast to play so I know what you mean OP!

Nope, core is head and tails over an SE. It’s my playing that makes me think a SE is a safe choice as I’ve modded most if not all my SE’s

Not me personally. I sold my SEs because I was always playing my cores instead. But the fact that you are means you have some very nice examples

A good guitar is a good guitar, as our man Sergio says. I have a clear #1. After that, I take out whatever resonates properly that day. Sometimes core, sometimes S2, sometimes SE. The only guitar I leave out is an SE 245 standard. ALL good, that’s why I have them.

Sold my only SE, only have Core and US Bolt ons at the moment. Not looking for any SE in the future, feeling is everything for me and I prefer the US PRS feel quite a bit.
