Alternative "Guitar Hero" guitars?

Is the Shredder the only alternative to the stock Guitar Hero guitar? Does anybody have the shredder & is it any good? I just watched someone playing GH at Best Buy and it looked like a blast. Before I go spend the $60 I want to know if the guitar itself is any good. If not, I'm sure I can find a loose copy of the game somewhere and buy a couple of good guitars. I need best guitar hero controller for pc

My family grew up too early for video games, Xbox, PlayStation, etc.

Only thing I might use Xbox for is Wii Fit exercises. Not because I'd likely be discerning what type video game I'd choose, but because like many of us on this forum, we spend inordinate time socializing about real guitars, not just fantasizing about being a guitar hero.

The sober truth is that only a very few individuals reach "hero" status or ability, though for the cost of a video game player and GH, you can pretend to be one in your own home.

(I think I'll stick to practice and be content with my lack of skills than role-play with GH. Life is too artificial these days. Take hold of the real life, and make it your own.)
