Almost NGD but can't wait for it to arrive so here is preview

what is the world coming to? Four pages in on one of the top guitars the PS team has ever produced, and no one has called DIBS.!

I didn't call 'DIBS!" 'cause when I invite myself over, I didn't want Matt to know I was there to steal his guitar - wait - did I just type that where Matt could see it?

DOH!

I just felt the pics should be in the thread again. Pic bump. What amp have you been playing her thru?
So Brian @ Brian's Guitars worked with me on this and I can tell you for sure that this was a great and no problems had deal from the beginning. When I decided I was going to take the leap and do a PS I called around but when I talked to Brian and got rough estimate , he continued to tell me that he was making a trip to the factory to do some specs on some guitars and said if I made up my mind before then that I could join them at the factory to pick my own wood. "DING" that was it and I was putting in my vacation for that day. I started another post when I got done my trip .here.http://prsguitars.com/forum/showthr...ittle-road-trip-yesterday-Private-Stock-Style So Here It Is

Another stunning guitar from PRS. Congrats, that is really special!

Thought for sure my next PRS would be a quilt in blue. Curly in THAT color is what I'm targeting now. Shouldn't be a problem finding plenty that look like this one right? lol
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-O
I have a pair of questions if ya don't mind.
Was the guitar ordered with D'Addarios or do the PSs come with D'Addarios? And if so, why don't they use their PRS strings?
Also, was African Mahogany (Kaya? Sapele?) ordered as backwood instead of Honduran like the neck? I assume that since they use Braz, they have stocks of the real mahogany..enough to make backs? Can you get a PRS or PS PRS with a Mahogany (South American) back?

Anyway...I think that top is probably the coolest figuring I've ever seen. I'm not a big fan of all the burled maple and all that other weird looking stuff they're using. Maybe I'm conservative and like(d) only/mostly the highly figured quilts and flames but CURLY!!! WOW!
It's as if Mother Nature decided...I'm gonna make a tree that when Paul uses it for a guitar top, it's gonna seem like a photographic engineer (?? lol) designed it specifically to draw the eye to exactly where it should be looking! Man...an Asian company needs to photograph that top and use it as a "fotoflame" for their cheap guitars.

Man I'd LOVE to be there everytime you open that case to show someone new. That guitar doesn't even look REAL!
All I can say is OMG!

This is by far the best top that has ever graced a guitar... BUT it begs for an infusion of ebony! If you are going to claim to be metal, have \m/ pickups with black hardware, you need some form of ebony (Gaboon or Macassar) on that fretboard and headstock. You might also want to consider a black burst finish on the back of the body and neck (alla PRS Boyd Burst models).
