All I Want For Christmas Is An Engine Hoist - To Move My Gear.

It's January 31, 2025. I decided to go into the studio and move stuff around because it's Friday.

I made a horrifying, shocking discovery:

The amps, furniture and monitors are in the right spots. The acoustical treatment is in the right spots. Even the nicknacks are in the right spots.

Oh, the room still needs new flooring, paint and other fix-me-ups, but that's not like aimlessly moving things around just for the fun of it, which has been a recurring theme in my life for many years!

There wasn't much to do other than write some music. Which...c'mon...BORING compared to the excitement of moving stuff around. 😂

If you start painting not only will you get to move stuff around, but it'll be a great excuse to put off writing and recording music!

Congratulations! I had to ban myself. No ladders that put me more than 4-5 feet off the ground!
A couple of years ago I bought a Little Giant stepladder with only three steps - I've never done anything that needed a taller ladder - but just to be secure, I got one with a swing-up safety bar/utility shelf that's waist-high when you're on the top step.

It's a great feature, and I need and use it!

Now that’s cool!
It's a great gadget. Pricy, but extremely well made, excellent quality hardware and materials. Very well thought out and designed; light, easy to carry and set up; the mechanism that locks into place when the safety bar is raised is very clever and the latches are quality pieces of hardware on their own.

I figure the cost of a fall is far in excess of the cost of this ladder. A nurse told me that the #1 cause of hospitalizations for older people is a fall.

Mine gets a lot of use around here!
