10'?Alnus said the same thing about a photo shop he worked in once. It's a great idea.
Actually, my basement ceiling could be as high as ten feet if I removed the drop ceiling and built up the walls.
Which, I know, fat chance!
That day gets closer all the time for every one of usSeriously, the engine hoist idea was kind of a joke to poke fun at my advancing feebleness.
I have to get in all the furniture and amp moving I can before I'm no longer able to!

I’m just glad you’re well enough to joke about it.I just looked at this thread again. The timing of my last post was apparently prescient, since in the early morning hours 3 days later I was flat on my ass in an ambulance headed to the hospital.
The actual ride would have been a lot of fun under other circumstances...
It's probably not a good idea for me to move furniture and amps around for at least a while, and now I feel like I'm missing out on one of life's great joys - 'moving stuff around'.
Oh sure, I could make some actual music in my studio, but where's the fun in that?

So, did Santa get you that hoist you put on your list?
A neighbour's kid is the solution, borrow them occasionally and you'll get a laugh too
