“Weekend at Bernie’s”.
Nah, I don't know how to so...So, mittens.
Bummer about the flat, but sounds like fun times!Close to 50km in south Austin with my daughter for her birthday. She flatted half’s kilometre from a distillery, so we got a flight. Then a cocktail. Then did the repair and headed back to our base.
It was fun. 8km of city traffic to escape road chaos was less than stellar, but nice rolling hills in the country were great.Bummer about the flat, but sounds like fun times!
Yikes on the puddles of doom!Yesterday I went for a typical short ride down to Mud bay. Absolutely gorgeous day that hit 25C or so. Shorts and T-shirt!
But... holy carp! I thought the days of the Nemesis puddle were over, but no... Not only is it back, but dayum... it has moved, multiplied, and it's huge!
This picture doesn't do it justice. It goes right around the corner, and must be 200 - 300 feet long! It's also freakin' deep.
This is looking back from the other side. My feet were immersed with every pedal turn, and completely soaked.
You are then immediately faced with the other one. A bit shorter, but just as deep. I was horrified at the thought of having to stop in the middle...
Warned a few cyclists heading the other way. Anyway... made it to Mud bay. What a fantastic day!
A lonely kite with no owner/operator...
Needless to say I chose an alternate way back...
No kidding! Not sure I want to go through those again.Yikes on the puddles of doom!
I’d be hesitant as well.No kidding! Not sure I want to go through those again.

I wonder what happened to get that sign installed…Funniest sign seen on my ride today.

I rode through water half way up my wheels and it was scary business. It is hard to push enough on the pedals to keep moving, but I didn’t dare stop because the flood stage current would have swept me downriver and probably smashed my skull into a concrete bridge.
“Nice” … so you’re saying it has a kickstand!I’ve got a nice mountain bike, looks lovely in the garage
When I had my last mountain bike, I didn't put on a kick stand; I had a folding wall-mounted holder for it.“Nice” … so you’re saying it has a kickstand!
