All about bicycles

Gotta say... my back is getting worse. I was clearing fallen trees in my back yard and I just can't do it for more than an hour or so.
Just wrecked...
Luckily going for a ride causes no back pain!
I wonder if the right bike/riding position would work for you?
It might. I may have to give up the “macho” attitude and try something.

I am a November baby too. The 13th to be exact.
Mine is the 15th. I was actually 3 days late. I was due on the 12th, which is my fathers birthday. Mom actually went into labor and to the hospital on the 12th. After 24 hours, labor stopped and they sent her home. Started again on the 15th and this time it worked, to the chagrin of many here (and elsewhere!) :D

It's pretty hard to fit a traditional bike to cater to back problems. Even with the best setup, your posture plays a huge role and it is hard not to get the back involved.
Recumbents are much easier on the upper body, but you have to get used to balancing on your butt rather than on your feet. It isn't hard, but it isn't for everyone. I have a few, so come over with Bodia and give it a try.

Well it's been over two weeks...
Weather and other distractions have kept me off the bike. Last time out was gorgeous weather but today was quite cool at 10C and rather cloudy.
I felt rather out of shape (only cuz it's true) and had to convince myself to get out after grocery shopping.
So... did the triple layers and full finger gloves. Left the tires a little squishy because I expected the trails to be a bit of a slippery mess after all of the rain.
Headed out for a Mud Bay run just to get 20+ kms in.

Lookin' good...

The tide is finally in!

Didn't get a pic of the trail back through Watershed Park, but dayum... I got showered with muddy water (yes, that's a music reference)...
Glad I did it. Need some more...

Its a beautiful day. Gardening and roller skating this afternoon.

Enjoy the weather. Days like this are very numbered. I am in shorts and a T-shirt!
Yes, we can't get many more like this before spring. Even with the time change (we started after dark last night) we played Pickleball outside from 6:00 til 8:30 in shorts and tshirts last night. It was still 70 degrees 2 hours after sunset!

Do you like Pickle ball? I was thinking of trying it. Great cardio!

I am enjoying it. It's not great for cardio, at least not like what I'm used too. But if you play at a decent level it's good all around. There is a lot of cutting, moving, etc., just that the smaller court makes the movements shorter.

It’s pretty straight forward. You’ll pick it up fast if you’ve ever played any racquet sport.
Agree, but… if you played a lot of tennis, there is some significant adjustments. The paddle vs. racquet. At first I kept getting to the spot to hit the ball but keeping the ball too far away from my body, since I’m used to a racquet, not a paddle. The smaller court. Big adjustment! I am CONSTANTLY hitting out when I try to go cross court. A couple other tennis hangovers I’m trying to cure. But, I’ve only played 6 times now. My problem is, I expect to be really good as soon as I start playing something new, and I’m not exactly a spring chicken now. :D Things don’t come quite as easy as they used to.
