Alex Lifeson Angelus jack failure

Hi all! Just received my 1st PRS guitar, an Alex Lifeson Signature Model A15E. Unfortunately, it does not send sound from the jack to my amp when plugged in all the way. If I plug it in partially it does send sound. Could this be due to a low battery? Or is it something else, possibly more serious? Thanks!

Swapping battery is always the first thing to try.

If that doesn't help, then yeah, I'd look at the jack to see if a wire came loose, though that is not too likely unless the instrument was abused. But when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, is undoubtedly the truth. (Paraphrasing.)
