Hi guys.

I have a 2017 Bernie Marsden, the last year with the US 245 pickups I believe. I was interested in setting it up for pickup reversal with a pull pot which was one of the original ideas BM had in designing the guitar but which wasn't carried through to the final product. However, looking in the cavity the pickups are only 2 wire jobs, that's hot and screen.

I know how to rewire from 2 to 3 or even 4/5 and I have the skills and equipment needed, I just don't know if it is viable on these pickups. So the question is, is it sensible to rewire these as 3 wire from their original 2 wire state.

Yep, that's what I'm after. Not looking for coil tap options, just pickup reversal.

Edit: Sorry, just twigged the question mark. Duuuhhh! I want to be able to reverse the wiring on the neck pickup to put it out of phase with the bridge a la Peter Green mod. You have to have at least the 3 wire option as you will be putting the hot wire onto the screening and the screen as the hot which loses its ability to screen.

I just looked at my SE ZM, with the 245 pups, I see that the negative wire and the shield wire are in the same shrink tubing, so you should be able to separate the two wires.

Oho! Now that is a real find Shimmilou. Great spot, I would never have seen that. I'll have a look later today and if mine are the same I can get on with the install. Thanks for the input, it's much appreciated. I'll get back with results and keep things up to date infowise.
