I own a SE Custom 24 guitar. I know that all SE models are factory set with 9-42 strings. I want to know if I can change the strings to 10-46 caliber, and if a special adjustment in the bridge is needed. Thanks.

Edwin.

1) Yes.
2) Probably.

The first thing I do with *any* new guitar is change the strings to what *I* use (even if it's the same gauge - but I happen to use 10-46 in this case as well).

I would be ready for a bridge adjustment for the change in gauge and a minor neck tweak from the added tension.

Also, the nut slots may need to be re-filed to accommodate the larger gauge strings. I'd only worry about it if you have any issues with tuning after moving up to the 10s.

Fairly short jump you are making.. Give it a shot and see if you have any tuning or intonation problems. I personally don't think you will but the adjustments will be minor at worst... Keep us in the loop..

Because it is a fairly small change, the chances of needing any major adjustments are quite slim. Not saying you wont need to make any adjustments, but from 9's to 10's the most you will more than likely end up needing to adjust is the Intonation and even then it will probably be a very minor adjustment.

Thank you so much guys. As I expected the change was not catastrophic but there are some minor issues I'll be adjusting as time passes by. Thanks again.
