Adjustable Stoptail Bottoming Out (Mira)

Hey, everyone. I'm a first-time poster, but I've been lurking for a while and reading up. As much as folks here know, I figure I'll get some sound advice about this:

I recently picked up an 08 PRS Mira (Core). The previous owner switched the bridge for an adjustable one (PRS, not a Tonepros, Schroeder, etc.), which is good for my purposes.
The trouble is that the treble side of the stoptail is bottoming out on the pickguard--the edge of the bridge sits just a little bit over the guard. The action isn't insane, but it's also not as low as what I've read Miras are capable of.

Since I don't have the original non-adjustable stoptail, I'm not sure if this issue is the result of the adjustable one being thicker top-to-bottom or something else.

Anyone else run into this? Thanks in advance!

Sounds like the neck needs a little less relief, so it's straighter back and the bridge can sit higher. Have you had a good pro setup done?

Thanks for the reply. I usually do my own setups. I checked the neck, and it's pretty much along the lines of the suggest PRS relief.

Is the pickguard flat on the body? the pup rings go over the guard, not the guard over the pup rings. Seems obvious but might be worth checking. After that, all I can think of is the replacement bridge sticks out farther than the original. If the intonation isn't affected, you might pull it back by tightening the set screws and it might move it past the pickguard and let you go lower.

Bingo! I was able to set it back far enough to clear the guard just a hair. Since the bridge is adjustable, I was able to intonate it just fine.

I heard from PRS that rhe adjustable bridge is a bit taller due to the saddles. I'm not sure if a stock non-adjustable bridge would be thin enough to lower the action and keep it intonated, but that's not a big deal.

Thanks flex he replies! This is a great forum.

My 07 Mira intonates just fine with 11-48s and the stock bridge, but I could see there being a problem with anything thicker than the stock bridge.
