Adding Second Volume To Custom 24

I have a Custom 24 that has one volume pot and one tone pot (that also is a coil tap). I would like to add a second volume pot so I can control the individual volumes of both pickups (Jimmy Herring does this on his two humbucker Strat). I definitely don't want drill any holes in this beautiful instrument. I see on line there are "stacked dual volume" pots.

Has anyone ever done something like this? Any ideas? Thanks.

Sure. The stacked pots operate just like two individual pots, so you can follow a Vol/Vol/Tone wiring diagram.

Or, if you can live without the tone pot, you can use what's already there and change it to a Vol/Vol setup.
