Did a search and didn't see much. Think it would be a good idea since i mostly play Drop C and high gain?

Drop C on a 24.5 scale length? Is that even legal?? :-)

Lol. Sure it is... Just like any other tuning it needs to be set up for the task at hand. There are people who tune them much lower... I think Myles Kennedy goes Drop B/Drop A#.

A lot of people say you lose articulation on barres and other chords low on the neck but i can't say i've noticed a lot of difference. I've played actives in LP's with less than 24.75 and they do pretty well. But as you may know many think actives too will cost you some articulation and add some sterility to your sound... The more i ponder the more it seems a hotter type passive might be the best bet. Something like a Tremonti or a SH-6 etc. I just hate being like everyone else :)

Just be careful that low C string doesn't hit you in the eye on the rebound ;-) but I guess a thicker gauge would help with that (or, conversely, really do some damage...)

I've also heard that the HFS pups are really articulate and with a high output. May be worth checking out. A lot of people don't seem to get along well with that pickup, so there must be used ones around...
